This two day course is aimed at people who have previous experience of working with fused glass.  The aim is to build upon existing glass fusing skills and experience to give you a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of techniques and processes.  The emphasis will be on teaching and learning so you will produce sample pieces for a series of technical exercises.  On the afternoon of day 2 you will apply what you have learned to a larger finished piece of work.

Course Content

• How to apply frits and powders in different ways to get different effects - a closer look at working with frits to get some lovely effects
• Working with texture - some additional techniques
• Working with glass pieces to produce a bigger piece i.e. forget working with sheets of glass, but work with small pieces to build up a bigger overall piece
• Layering of glass and designs to produce more depth to your work
• How to create bubbles in your work exactly where you want them
• Looking at firing schedules, problems specific to working with float glass, tin up vs tin down debate
• Playing with any new products that I have in stock
• Putting it all together for a final finished piece
